Hull’s owner Stephen Kovel points out that it’s all about customer service–knowing what the customer wants and needs for their artwork. Kovel says his staff likes to go above and beyond the call of duty. For example, general manager Shawn Szirbik remembers a recent encounter with a customer who had called six other art shops, which all said they couldn’t help her. “Her husband was a World War II navy vet and she wanted to frame pictures of him, his navy hat and his pins. We put it in a three-inch shadow box and when she picked it up, she cried.”
